Nova Scotia Report
Greetings from Nova Scotia!
First, I would like to say how privileged I am to be able to take over the role of councillor from Linsey Morrow who did a wonderful job as councillor over the past year.
As we prepare for another winter, our chapter is busy in preparation for our trip to Quebec City in 2010.
Halifax was the host city for the annual conference this past June. It was a special conference as it was the 40th. A special tribute was a slideshow depicting the past presidents of CANN for the past 40 years which was shown during one of our breakfasts. We had over 200 registrants attend with great positive feedback regarding our education sessions. We would like to thank everyone who attended for making our conference a huge success.
Our fundraising efforts have begun with ticket sales on a homemade Christmas village donated by Carolyn Townsend. Our ABC’s of Neuro workshop will be held once again in the spring.
We continue to hold monthly meetings and educational sessions. We started off October with a “Welcome Back” social meeting. During our next meeting in November, we had Dr. Ciara Harraher as a guest speaker who presented Diabetis Insipidus. During our future meetings we hope to have several other speakers.
We look forward to a busy and exciting year.
Respectfully submitted,
Janet White
Provincial Councillor, CANN
