Annual Report May 2010

Greetings from Alberta!

It is hard to believe our three-year term is nearing an end. The collaboration, networking, discussions, and challenges have provided a fun, valuable and memorable experience. We would like to thank the executive, board members, and CANN members for their dedication, professionalism, hard work, and friendships. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as a CANN councillor and work with such a great team!

The Alberta CANN membership stands at fourty-six. Having two chapters in Alberta has been an excellent strategy to meet the needs of our neuroscience nurses. Alberta North and Alberta South councillors continue to work collaboratively to promote and serve both our members and our professional organization.

Recruitment and retention of members continues to be both a goal and an ongoing challenge. We continue to be committed to exploring and providing educational and professional opportunities that best support our membership needs. We continue to have monthly meetings and educational sessions that are of interest to our members.

We wish the new councillors all the best in their new role.

We look forward to the upcoming meeting in Quebec City!
