Communications and Marketing (Web)

November 2011

Greetings from the World Wide Web!!

Once again it has a busy year for the CANN website. Over the summer and fall we continued re-working the website content including the addition of a members tab that contains current reports and the newly created section for archived reports. This section will be further developed to contain biographical information and pictures of CANN Board members and our policy and procedures/bylaws.

Several educational events from local chapters were posted. I would like to encourage counsellors to forward any local events for posting. The postings are free and help keep the website interesting with new content as well as providing year long updates to members on CANN activities across the country. Unfortunately, the planned monthly educational article from the chapters did not occur but I would like to thank the New Brunswick chapter for their submission.

A link to our new blog and Facebook page can now be found on our home page... check them out and share your thoughts and ideas with your fellow CANN members.

On a less upbeat note, our website was not available for several days in January 2011 as our Web Host was taken over by hackers. This resulted in a defacement of our website but luckily no content damage occurred and the site was back up and running normally once the Web Host was able to fix the attack from their end.

Respectfully submitted,
Sharron Runions
