Eastern-Ontario Chapter Annual Report

May 2010

This being my last report as Eastern-Ontario councillor, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the CANN family for all their support and encouragement over the past three years! I have thoroughly enjoyed my term—I know the skills and many contacts I have made will serve me well in the future!

Once again our chapter will be well represented at the June conference—a group of our nurses will be off to Quebec City to attend CANN’s AGM and Scientific Sessions in June!

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members we have raised enough funds to provide partial funding to attend the conference to several members who requested assistance from our chapter.

We continue to hold frequent education sessions and are in the midst of planning a day conference for the fall!

Our chapter membership continues to grow thanks to many active local members and word of mouth! We held a combo ‘Neuro Skills’ Fair and ‘Membership Blitz’—the goal of this evening session was to increase awareness of CANN and promote on-going education in our beloved field of Neurosciences!

Fundraising is always on our mind… in addition to the Day Conference (which we are hoping will be a big hit) our ‘cookbook journey’ continues!! We are continuing to collect recipes in order to finally create a 2nd edition of our famous cookbook “Brain Food”!

We look forward to seeing you in La Belle Province (Quebec City)—we know it will be a great week!!

“Happy National Neuroscience Nurses Day” — June 20th

Respectfully submitted,
Aline M. Mayer
