2010 Annual Report

It has been another busy year for the Ontario West Chapter. Recruitment and retention of members continues to be both a goal and an ongoing challenge. As of January 2010, we had 37 members based on numbers provided at the midyear meeting.

Our Spring Update which is a half-day workshop was held on April 23rd. We had 30 registrants which is what we were aiming for. Presentations included: The five essential things you need to know about wound care; Getting in the Mood: the Sexuality Assessment; and a Interdisciplinary presentation on the Management and Treatment of GBS. All of the presentations were well received. Our education committee will begin planning for our annual Fall Update shortly.

We have 5 chapter members attending the annual meeting in Quebec City. Two of our members, Lisa Pearlman and Margo Devries-Rizzo are presenting. Corbin Lippert and Kristine Hooghiem who were recipients of the Lynn Ann Baldwin Award in 2008, have completed the course work for their ACNP course and will be writing their exam shortly.

Once again we will be having our annual summer BBQ.
