Studying for CNA Neuroscience Certification Exam?

Course Registration and Start Date is July 16th 2018

Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification is a nationally recognized nursing specialty credential for registered nurses. The first certification exam, offered in 1991, was in neuroscience nursing. Today, nearly 17,000 RNs are CNA certified in over 20 specialties.

CNA Certified RNs are…

  • Recognized nationally for their practice excellence and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Valued by employers, because their certification demonstrates specialized knowledge and brings many benefits to organizations
  • Viewed as having enhanced professional credibility, because their certification shows they Care to Be the Best!

The CNA Certification Program is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills expected of a nurse with at least two years of experience in a given specialty. The exam tests participants on national standards created by nursing experts rather than a core curriculum of study.

Because the exam assesses experience, preparation will be based on what nurses already know. The course will refresh knowledge of the neuroscience nursing specialty, especially practice areas that nurses haven’t been exposed to recently (example - stroke, movement disorders, epilepsy etc.).

Course content includes topics listed in the CNA Guidelines and Competencies for Neuroscience Nursing. The course provides PowerPoint presentations, videos, lectures, case studies and readings that cover general neuro-anatomy and pathophysiology and sample questions at the end of each lecture.

There is no cost for this course; It is offered to both Canadian and International nurses with the intent of providing an online learning experience. The Course is self-paced and designed to help you study and pass the neuroscience certification exam.
