Maxime completed his Bachelor of Nursing at the Université de Montréal (2012) and his Master of Nursing (leadership) at York University in Toronto (2019). He has been a CANN member since 2012 and successfully obtained his neuroscience nursing certification from the CNA in 2013. He was the Program Chair of the 50th anniversary CANN conference in Montreal in 2019 and Co-chair of the 2024 Toronto conference and is also a CANN past president. He is the current Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer for CANN national (2020-2025). He has worked as a bedside nurse in neuroscience (2008-2013; 2017-2019) as well as in occupational health and safety and pre-hospital emergency care (2012-2022). He has also held management positions in neurosurgery, acute stroke (2013-2017), and clinical research (2017-2022) at The Neuro in Montreal, working for both the public healthcare network as well as the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of McGill University. He also worked for the Quebec Order of Nurses, the province’s accrediting nursing body, as Assistant Syndic for two years (2022-2024), conducting professional misconduct investigations. He recently returned to the McGill University Health Centre as Associate Director for the Neuroscience Mission and is currently based at The Neuro. Outside of his nursing and healthcare-related work, he volunteers on other boards of directors in the classical music and real estate management fields.
