Christianne is the Clinical Nurse Educator for the Acute Stroke Unit at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB. She has worked in acute Neurosciences since completing her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Calgary in 1998. She has been a CANN member and CNA certified Neuroscience Nurse since 2006.She also recently attained the credential of Neurovascular Registered Nurse- Board certified (NVRN-BC) in 2024. She has served on the CANN board of directors in many roles, most recently as Past-President, and now chairs the Equity, Justice and Belonging and 2026 Scientific committees. Christianne has a passion for supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion in both work and home lives. She sits on a Communication Access interdisciplinary leadership group provincially, supporting both patient/family/caregiver, and staff experience bringing the Nursing lens. At home, Christianne has a husband and two adult children out on their own (they are recent empty nesters) plus a number of furry friends (dogs, cats) depending on their current fosters with a local animal rescue.
