Suzanne Basiuk MN, RN (She/Her)

Suzanne Basiuk has been a neuroscience nurse since 1988 when she graduated from the University of Manitoba and began working in the spinal cord injury unit at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. After moving to Calgary in 1989 she worked in neuro units at the Bow Valley Centre and Foothills Hospital then took on the role of Headache Clinic Nurse in 1996. Suzanne worked as the Clinical Coordinator for the Headache Program first at Foothills Hospital then at the Chronic Pain Centre until 2007. In 2009 she completed her Master of Nursing studies at the University of Calgary and her thesis entitled “Self-efficacy for Headache Management”. She worked in leadership roles in chronic pain from 2009 to 2020. Her current role is Senior Advisor, Alberta Health Services Calgary Zone, Primary Care Team. Suzanne has been an active member of CANN since 1996 serving as Calgary Chapter Secretary and President, then CANN National President in 2017. She moved into the role of Executive Treasurer in 2019 and continues in this position.
